Enhance student’s ability to learn by providing  high quality nutritious meals  with professional and courteous service 


Goals of Child Nutrition: 

  • enhancing students’ ability to learn by providing nutritional meals at school;
  • encouraging life-long healthy eating habits consistent with the health education curriculum;
  • offering students, a variety of nutritional foods;
  • providing courteous service to students, employees and authorized visitors; and
  • operating the food services program efficiently so that earnings may be used to reduce the cost of food, serve better food, or supplement the costs associated with the Community Eligibility Provision.

Meal Service Information:

Wilkes County Schools Child Nutrition would like to welcome your student to the 2021-2022  school year.    Wilkes County Schools will be participating in the Seamless Summer Meal Service program, which provides breakfast and lunch meals at no charge to student’s ages one through 18.In addition Wilkes County Schools Elementary and Middle Schools participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), part of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.  We highly encourage our high school families to apply for meal benefits through the traditional free and reduced program, where eligibility of free or reduced meal service is determined through Direct Certification or by application each school year.
